CO excludes the name(s) of signers in a jurat
Here's an example direct from the handbook under "Notarization Format Examples":
"Example for an oath"
Subscribed and sworn to before me in the county of__, State of Colorado, this __ day of __, 20__.
Notary's official signature ________ Commission expiration __________
Seal
That's it.
The handbook does add: "If the document is to be signed by more than one person, the notary may add (by document signer's name) to anaffirmation or oath to clarify which signature(s) the notary is certifying."
This says to me at least they've thought about IDing the signer on the jurat, but after a zillion signings (est.) I don't think I've ever had a jurat where one person took an oath and the other did not ???? (Tho it's possible in a nonobligor situation. Still ....) Further, all of this assumes that the jurat is on the same page as BO signature(s) which very often is not the case in loan docs; the jurat stands alone on a separate page. Yikes! |
