Hi Scott, our public notary search could definitely use some work, since I don't believe it's been touched since we first built it. I'll pass this along to our engineering team. Currently, we do return NSAs who are in the surrounding area - the search isn't limited to the zip code or city entered.
The way we rank notaries in the public notary search is different from how we rank notaries in the search that companies on Snapdocs use. For the public notary search, we give preference to NSAs who have a profile photo, have a visible email address and/or phone number, and have a bio. The algorithm we use also factors in when you last logged in to your Snapdocs account. The number of orders you've done is actually one of the last things the algorithm considers for the public search.
Your order count on Snapdocs may not be accurate because we only have visibility into the orders you complete through Snapdocs or orders you manually add. If a company added your information to Snapdocs when they joined, we will also add orders you completed with them to your order count on Snapdocs. Since we only have limited visibility into how many signings you've truly done, your bio is a great place for you to provide more information. We provide some more information on how we calculate your order count here: http://support.snapdocs.com/hc/en-us/articles/217213407
