As others have said, please don't beat yourself up. You are a new notary and mistakes happen in the beginning. Also, you were not properly educated on everything that a NSA from your state needs to know, specifically that you must work under the direction of an attorney.
That's not so bad. Now that you have your NSA, is it possible to market to the attorneys in your area who do home loans? They might have their go-to people and can perhaps add you to their list. It's an idea.
General notary work also brings in income.
I admire how you came back and followed up too. Please don't give up too soon, there indeed are many other ways you can use your notary skills.
