Absolutely! I don't think we will be needed in 15 years truth be told anywhere. There will be more viable ways to check someone's identity than looking at a form of ID and comparing a picture, checking a date. Computers and iPad's using fingerprint technology to positively ID you, Disney does a finger scan for pass holders, high-risk employment, scientific labs use retinas scans, the way we do our job is pretty archaic by most means. There is no doubt in my mind ours is the first to leave the real estate closing profession. Doc-U-Sign, e-signings are coming into play, as soon as they wean out the wet signature portion, we are done. I think civilization will become a global force that all will have a chip and retina scan and do away with SS numbers in the USA and whatever other countries use as verification worldwide as one all interlinking. No passports, no nothing, just that scan and retina/fingerprint verification and goes global instantly with all your life history on it. Every 2 years we show up to update our address, our picture and medical.
Our job doesn't even come into radar. We do not have a bright future, unfortunately. We can ride this train out as long as we can, but we also need to be thinking if that will carry us over to retirement, and if not we better be having a plan B while still young enough to get a plan B. |
