"There have been attacks on "museums" and "cemeteries" and "battlefields" .

Your own words."

When did this become about defacing monuments?

This is about whether it's appropriate to have monuments dedicated to traitors erected in public parks and on public streets. If we must have them, they should be where they belong - in museums, cemeteries and on battlefields.

Monuments to our Founders and to true American heroes ARE appropriate for public display. These Confederate men took up arms against their country, and some of them killed a lot of Americans - that makes them traitors, not heroes.
