Thanks for the link - I will give it a try and see if it does a better job than this flat piece of plastic I'm using. If not. I'll just return it.
I know higher is better for an antenna, but I'm in a ground-floor apartment, so max height is maybe 8 or 9 feet if I hang it from the ceiling... which I'm not about to do. I don't have a window near the TV, but I do have a fireplace (which I never use) with a mantle I can place the antenna on and aim it at a window. The mantle is probably 4 ft high, and according to tvfool.com, I SHOULD be able to bring in the ABC affiliate. Maybe it depends on the antenna you select.
Here's something I thought was odd - for some obscure reason, TV stations in the eastern part of the country have call letters that start with a W, and those in the western part have call letters that start with a K. I'm in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. Every single local TV station in the area has a call sign that begins with a K - except for the ABC affiliate, which is WFAA. |
