We all agree it's perfectly okay to use another State's Acknowledgment. However, to do that, that Acknowledgment must comply with that State's stipulations.
For instance, in California, there's precise verbiage plus the complete venue, plus date, plus notary's name followed by "notary public" plus signer(s) name(s) then at the bottom notary signature and stamp. Finally, let's not forget the disclaimer box above the venue. If one of these elements is missing, kick it back!
That's why, not knowing and usually not having the time/inclination to look up each state's Acknowledgment requirement, I simply attach a California compliant one when provided certificate is non-compliant.
