Question About the New Required Florida ACK and Jurat
Posted by  JerryhFL of FL on 1/22/20 6:03pm Msg #614866
Starting 1/1/2020 FL has new notarial wording that requires that a box be check to indicate if the signer appeared in person or if they signed via online notarization.

The document would contain the following wording:

The foregoing instrument was acknowledge before me by means of __Physical Presence or __Online Notarization this ___day of ___________, 2020 by Sam Signor and etc.

In most instances the correct form is being used, however also in the package I find the verbiage that we have been using for years.

The forgoing instrument was acknowledged before me on this____ day __________, _______ by Sam Signer and etc.

My question is does the second notarial wording mean the same as the first.

I have been substituting the new notarial form which is time consuming and I wondering how other FL notaries are handling the situation.

I intend to call the FL SOS to get their opinion.
