"I put a line through my name and signed it correctly on most docs and squeezed my middle name in where I could on the others. "
IT HAS TO BE CONSISTENT. Without even going into the signer's portion you failed miserably on your own with notary 101 basics. Your full name does not have to be on your commission, just the way you sign, in FL anyway. Maybe each state is different. Your commission should have asked you how do you want your name to appear, and how that name appears is how you sign it.(Just like loan documents)
If you put your full name on your commission then you have to sign it to match. I omitted my middle name on mine for that reason, that is not my signature. By you crossing out, squeezing in is a mess and will be rejected more than likely trying to be recorded. Just my guess, many are very picky.
