Re: Notarization Date

It's true that when a notarial certificate has a phrase like "...on the __ day of ____ 2022, before me appeared ____" the date that goes in the first two blanks is the day the person appeared before the notary. I'm not exactly sure what kcg means by a prep date, but I don't care. The date in the notarial certificate is the date the signer appears before me.

HOWEVER, that part of the notarial certificate is not called the "venue". The venue is the location where the notary and signer were when the notarization took place. It's usually the state and county. It is written in the notarial certificate, usually at the top.
