You and everyone posted on this are correct. You have to notarize on the date the person signed in front of you. The document could have been drawn up a year ago, it doesn't matter what it says or when it was created as long as they sign it in your presence on that date. An example is a mail-away document with 3 signers. Each signer is located in a different location and has to be mailed to them. Each notarization will have a different date on it for that person. When they get it back, the recording date will be different as well. Just curious, was the prep date handwritten or typed in the document? |
