A reminder too, to always bring plenty of water when hiking in warmer weather.
And try to stick with your schedule so you don’t run-out of options. I’ve been dehydrated and disoriented while backpacking even when bringing extra water, a water pump, and being prepared – but I hiked for too long in vast areas - Grand Canyon and Lost Coast. And always check in and out at the local ranger station, giving them your itinerary – the trails you’re hiking and when you expect to return. I don’t backpack that much anymore, but lessons learned….
