I looked at their website and didn't see anything related to federal grants. They've been pounding on my door lately too. Be careful with their pitch...there's incentives and tax credit that will offset the cost. Another pitch they make for no cost is by using the PACE program. This adds the cost to you property taxes. You don't have a personal loan but the cost becomes a part of the property taxation, in effect placing a superior lien on the property.
"Some salespeople and building contractors have in the past misrepresented the cost of PACE projects and the financing, claiming no money down or out-of-pocket-costs are required and giving the impression these services are free. PACE is NOT a free government program. Homeowners must pay for a PACE contract through increased assessments in their annual property tax bills. As such, PACE assessments can also make it more difficult to sell or refinance a property because a lien is placed on your home until the PACE contract is paid off."

You may want to ask if this is part of the PACE program. Nothing wrong with it, but I wouldn't trust a salesperson offering something free to you. Also, mixed reviews on the Tesla products. |
