It's amazing what a negative review this author did on the Tesla solar system. Tesla's predecessor was Solar City. They installed my rooftop system in 2013. So their components were different & they had sales people & used contracted local contractors.
In 8 years I have had zero need or calls for service or repairs. ZERO. Rooftop systems are not mechanical. The only time I expect repair or replacement would be due to wind or hail damage.
A couple of years after my installation our electric utility company changed the program to discourage rooftop solar. They moved to "utility scale" solar plants. So potential customers really have to do their homework on whether or not going solar makes financial sense for their situation. For most of us the good feeling of saving carbon emissions only works if it makes financial sense too.
BTW, I wish I had a Tesla in my garage, but I can't justify that expense. |
