I will assume that ArtG/KS's policy on free notarizations in reality does not discriminate on any basis that would be illegal. But the next time he writes about his policy, he might want to not make it seem that he does or does not charge for notarizations on the basis of religion. And I don't mean to pick on ArtG; any of us might think of a certain group as "my friends" but the group also happen to have something to do with a group that is protected from discrimination, whether it be a church, political party, genealogical group, Daughters of the American Revolution, etc. We should all watch our wording when describing our services. |
