house kit, had it built, according to the story. It appears he would have had the right to sell it, unless there is some sort of civil contract to the contrary. The property owner did not own the cabin, and, depending also on if it was on a permanent foundation--the line is drawn as to "mobile" and "attached to the land". Civil suit, imho. Much more expensive than the $3 k involved.

Once the sheriff determines it's a civil dispute they will back away and let the parties involved settle it either among themselves or in court, at their expense. imho
