Borrowers are not your friends; it's not a social event nor are they your captive audience. 45 minutes or slightly less is about right for a 140ish pkg and the chit-chat just doubled that and 'time is money', so you just halved your 'table time per hour pay', which ought to motivate you to stick to business. The fact that the signer mentioned the last one ought to be your clue that it took too long and lost the 'convenience to B' factor. Not saying to not be human, but when you catch yourself launching into another story, save it for after business is done (and you'll find that it really wasn't important enough to hang around just to chat).
