Seems nobody knows why the guy did it, but I think if he didn't have guns, he'd have found another way to do what he did. They did find the makings for bombs in that hotel room and his home. In other countries, crazy guys drive cars into crowds. One does wonder how he got all that stuff into his room...and nobody noticed? See something/say something.
