When do you fold 'em with an irate Borrower?
Posted by  snowflake/PA of PA on 10/19/12 6:14pm Msg #439273
Got to closing about 30 minutes late due to late docs. They were okay with that. Mr. B. was a bully from the start. "You have everything, right?" "Yes." "They never sent me a copy of the figures to review."

We start reviewing and he starts yelling at me. Wife told him it's not my fault. I suggested we call the LO. Wife was most amenable. Husband kept yelling that all the figures were wrong (he is an accountant). Well - title called into the closing to say there were more docs for signature which weren't sent. Are you kidding me? I'm already in the closing and now there are more docs they never sent with package. Husband starts yelling at title - not closing, wrong figures, etc. That was a 15 min. battle. Title suggested he call his LO. He started yelling at LO for about 15 mins, she calmed him down, reviewed his concerns and we actually signed. He was so proud of himself for yelling at everyone. He said "that LO handled me pretty well. I should tell her."

WTH - at what point do you walk away? I never want to blow a loan apart, nor lose a vendor, but this guy was nuts.
