During confirmation call, ask borrower if they've spoken to their LO and/or reviewed the loan package. If NO, then ask them if they'd like to do so before you arrive for the appt. Then, they can be called out on it if they "start" in on you like Mr. Bully did.

Establish role before you even set the loan package on the table (i.e. I am a NOTARY PUBLIC, here to witness your signatures. I am not employed by the lender or title company and **I'm seeing these docs for the FIRST time, AS YOU ARE. If there are any questions, we'll flag those docs and call the LO.)
I don't use the title "Signing Agent". Seems to work in my favor to use the title "Notary Public" because 98% don't know what a SA is. 98% know what a NP is.
