If there is a problem with shipping that day, I tell them up front before the closing and suggest other possiblities of shipping. Then I make sure I get it in writing that a particular form of shipping will be okay.
I do not want to delay a closing for the individual.
It does sound to me that you were in the middle and nothing for you to do but be professional. So, no worries.
It is their loss.
