|I did not realize a formal communication had come out.|
I still believe it is in the best interest of my community and the right thing to do to not accept signings or GNW at this time for all the reasons I've previously discussed here on the forum.
Pamela, your procedural explanation was one of the best I've read here as far as safety except for a few details such as wearing gloves (are you providing all the necessary PPE supplies during the signings?), wearing masks (both parties should ideally wear masks as COVID19 spreads without symptoms present) and the contamination of journal and ink pads.
I hope the notaries that do choose to work are asking for double our normal fees as the procedural requirements alone to try and be safe costs more money and more of our time. This should be the case across the board right now as we are the ONLY person in the financial transaction taking the risk to our health (other than the Signers themselves).
I will continue to advocate for shelter in place recommendations and hear the please from our medical professions to stay home at all costs.
Best of luck to everyone. Stay safe.
