on youtube that makes notary signings especially loan signings seem like a piece of cake and that it will be easy to make over $50K/year". None of that is true. This profession requires knowledge & skills. You also need to make a major investment in a computer with high-speed internet, laser printer, E&O Insurance, etc. If you haven't already done so, make sure you get some good training. Loan signings are about handling large financial transactions. There are already too many out there that don't know what they're doing. That drives the fees being paid down. I've been in business for 14 years & can tell you it's tough to the kind of money you're talking about. We are self-employed, wait for cos. to pay us (average 30 days), have to keep records, etc. It's not easy being in business for your self. I wish you good luck as you start your Notary business. I'm sorry you lost your job because of Covid. |
