You just love to argue if someone doesn't agree with you Linda. I have read all the articles, including this one. Over the past two years I have been in contact with my local representatives who were reviewing this for the State of Minnesota, I have spoken with several owners of title companies in my area, and I have spoken with people who work in the lending industry, so my head is definitely not in the sand as you would like to believe. I am not going to sit here and argue with you over verbiage or the definition of a remote notarization and an e-notarization. I think you should be the one to go back and read the article. Pay close attention to the words "Electronic Notarization" which some of us call "e-notarization" for short. I am fully aware of the verbiage and what it all means Linda. "Florida Agency Network announced the completion of its first 100 percent paperless, fully-digital real estate refinance transaction with United Wholesale Mortgage and Florida Mortgage Firm. The closing was completed at the office of Florida Mortgage Firm. All closing documents were executed electronically, and the Electronic Notarization of mortgage and affidavits was performed by Notarize via an online interface."
If you want to think this is happening tomorrow and our careers as NSA's are doomed, you are entitled to your opinion . . . just as I am entitled to my opinion. According to my research and the conversations I have had with several industry leaders, I personally think we are years away from this happening and refuse to jump on your bandwagon of despair when it comes to this industry. I too am entitled to my opinion on this subject and should be able to express it here freely without you constantly bashing me every chance you get just because I disagree with you and accusing me of having my head in the sand.
Anyone can write a press release Linda, and that is just what that article was. It is one company tooting their own horn on how they were able to do a totally electronic closing using a remote notary who electronically notarized the documents and the county who electronically recorded those documents.
