The notary him/herself is pending extinction, online or offline. For whatever can be done online, can be done, ultimately, without a remotely connected "real notary" at all. The processes demonstrated on Notarize.com make this quite clear: though part of the "revolutionary process" now, the "real notary" is a formality in passing. In the near future, folks will be able to complete their "loan signings" right in their self-driving cars . . .
The most painful step, however, will be the one in-between. As notarizing goes remote digitally, companies will be able to farm out the work outside the country, in a manner similar to they way they did with (way) offshore "tech support." Remote "notary signing agents" will be located in India, Bangladesh, etc. |
