There was nothing fishy about it at all. The lender stated that mom and dad already owned a primary residence in another state where they resided full time which would prevent them from going into title on this property. I would venture to guess that by including the parents on title it would then turn this into a second home because they can't have two primary residences and the type of loan program their daughter was applying for needed it to be a primary as it was not a conventional loan she was getting. It was some sort of government assistance program she applied for. There are so many different types of financing programs available and just because something is unfamiliar to someone does not make it illegal or fishy. |
