They aren't thinking you are a small little business counting every single penny, including copies of docs. They are in rush/hurry mode. Or, an escrow assistant just sent the originals and had no clue that copies should be included.
It is not a plot to defraud notaries of their due. You have to keep this kind of stuff in mind and if the fee from a title company isn't sufficient to cover for a set of copies, you are not charging enough.
Don't take this sort of stuff so personally folks. Take it into account when you quote your fee or ask the question. |
