let the LO know right away. Those people who know and respect your hard work are the ones that can back you up.
Also, it is not necessarily your fault considering that you did not tear up the package and also title doesn't have proof that the package was torn. If so, they should have taken a photo of it. Those envelopes are designed to ship in and I'm sure the majority of them make it to their destinations in one piece.
