Yes, supplies are free. I think to establish an account anywhere Fed Ex or UPS requires a card on file. You can always buy a prepaid and use that just in case.
I did get a bill from UPS from back in the day filling out the label manually, and used my return instead of the signers or the shippers. Lesson learned it was a chargeback. The SS went out of business and I believe I ended up having to pay for it.
You also have to carefully inspect the prepaid labels as last year I came across one that had "bill to sender" instead of "bill to receiver" and they had my name pre-filled out as sender. Needless to say, it was crossed out and I changed it. They told me not to worry about it, but I didn't trust that. after that, I always check.
