... I can attest to the fact that a CA NSA is limited only by their laziness, lack of skill or personality or whatever, to get onboard with a TC or lender or LO for direct (profitable) work. That's the name of the game there. However, in CO, it's just like PegiT described. Not a chance. CO escrow officers would rather slit theNSA's throat than give up a signing. Even to talk to a mobile notary. They will make borrowers/buyers/sellers stand in line forever at their offices and take a number to get their signing done than even consider a mobile notary. It is beyond their comprehension to turn over a signing to a non-TC employee. They will close up the office to travel to a signing if need be rather than call a mobile notary. They require that all signers travel to them (often at hefty mileage, nothing is right around the corner here) and, of course, at the TC's convenience. They set the appt, not the signer. What shocks me is that the Realtors and LOs have no problem with this. I guess once they have their clients in the bag, they don't care how inconvenienced they are when it comes time to close. And if they do care, tough. The greed of these offices is palpable. |
