LOL I'm with you on the KISS system and actually, my diet does lean more towards Mediterranean than full-on plant based. I just watch the so-called good oils and fats like a hawk, unlike keto. I'm not at all rigid about it, just try to build healthy eating, and living, habits.
I also found, that rewarding myself by going off routine, is like throwing sand in the tank. It's real Russian roulette as the chance of greater than normal appetite and cravings appear HUGELY afterwards. I just know that's going to happen so prepare to wage war the next day. I also try not to go off course often.
Also, should note, that I don't lose any weight walking or exercising, and actually the MORE (like in amounts) I eat plant-based foods the more I lose. Because I'm full. Exercise keeps me healthy and pain free. Carb conscious and intermittent fasting are things that really work for me though we are all different. I should note that I really, really focus on eating balanced more than I focus on eating plant based. I have to, because there exists an extremely good cook in the house, and it isn't me! We're constantly 'working things out'. She's great about cooperating I should add.
Plant based consciousness has already been a healthy strategy for me. My Doc told me very directly, "ALL meats are bad for you". Okay Doc....
Don't know how good all this is, but the importance of not going into reverse and adding the pounds back on outweighs any extra hard dieting. You're so right about that. |
