I've noticed positive changes in keto practices that I hadn't seen years ago. They are now promoting more plant-based foods and more intermittent dieting. The video I posted above with Dr Berg shocked me. He was talking about eating huge salads, two meals a day, fasting 18 hours between meals. That’s my dietary habit. Years ago he promoted eating 5 eggs a day. I don't know if that has changed.
Something I don't understand, and I would like your take on with all sincerity is if there's even a slight risk eating high fats vs plant-based....well, I think you know the question.
I can vouch that energy levels go up, sleeping is much more pleasant, clarity of thought increases...the same things keto is promising.....minus the starting sickness when eating plant-based.
My wife's grocery budget goes down when I stick with.
It's just a quandry I have. Cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar, all correct themselves to the degree possible with the person. Weight peels off fast. It's a mystery to me to turn from a naturally safe path. Idk...
Lastly, and mostly personally, this time around I am about 80-85% plant based so not a nut about it. I include eggs and various meat products the other 15%. I have to spread that out though. If eaten persistently, I will get sick, lethargic, and even add weight back. We hang with similar folk, who eat plant based most of the time but don't go nuts about it like we probably should. I wouldn't do that without hitting my weight target first however.
A big way to promote higher HDL is exercise, so that's why I walk a mile plus each day. There is a lot of newer information about total cholesterol as a marker.
Good that you're being proactive! Keep it up! |
